Gervihnöttur fylgist með gróðurmynstri á heimsvísu sem vísindamenn nota til að kanna breytingar á vexti plantna vegna loftslags- og umhverfisbreytinga sem og mannlegrar virkni. Ljóstillífun gegnir stóru hlutverki við að fjarlægja koltvísýring úr andrúmsloftinu og geyma það í viði og jarðvegi, svo kortlagning gróðurs er lykilatriði í rannsókn kolefnishringrásarinnar. Bændur og auðlindastjórnendur nota einnig gróðurkort sem byggjast á gervihnöttum til að hjálpa þeim að fylgjast með heilsu skóga okkar og ræktunarlanda.
Á þessum kortum er gróður sýndur sem kvarði eða vísitala grænleika. Græni byggist á nokkrum þáttum: fjölda og tegund plantna, hversu laufléttar þær eru og hversu heilbrigðar þær eru. Á stöðum þar sem laufblöð eru þétt og plöntur vaxa hratt, er vísitalan hátt, táknuð í dökkgrænum lit. Svæði þar sem fáar plöntur vaxa hafa lágan gróðurstuðul, sýndur í sólbrúnku. Vísitalan er byggð á mælingum sem gerðar voru af Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) á Terra-gervihnetti NASA. Svæði þar sem gervihnötturinn safnaði ekki gögnum eru grá.
Augljósasta mynstrið sem kortin sýna er hnattrænt: gróður grænn er hátt í kringum miðbaug allt árið þar sem hitastig, úrkoma og sólarljós er mikið.

Á milli miðbaugs og pólana breytist gróðurinn með árstíðunum.

Satellites observe global-scale patterns of vegetation that scientists use to study changes in plant growth as a result of climate and environmental changes as well as human activity. Photosynthesis plays a big role in removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and storing it in wood and soils, so mapping vegetation is a key part of studying the carbon cycle. Farmers and resource managers also use satellite-based vegetation maps to help them monitor the health of our forests and croplands.

On these maps, vegetation is pictured as a scale, or index, of greenness. Greenness is based on several factors: the number and type of plants, how leafy they are, and how healthy they are. In places where foliage is dense and plants are growing quickly, the index is high, represented in dark green. Regions where few plants grow have a low vegetation index, shown in tan. The index is based on measurements taken by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite. Areas where the satellite did not collect data are gray.

The most obvious pattern that the maps show is a global one: vegetation greenness is high around the equator all year long, where temperatures, rainfall and sunlight are abundant. Between the equator and the poles, the vegetation greenness rises and falls as the seasons change.

Dear Israeli Arab citizens, 

If you think you can kill a Jew in 2021 with complete impunity and follow the path of the Arab pogromists of 1929 and the pro-Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al Husseini, you are sadly mistaken.

We will not give up a square centimeter of our beloved land - not Lod, Bat Yam, Hadera, Tiberias or elsewhere.

You can burn some cars, synagogues,Torah scrolls, vandalize shops, attack our police officers but you won't win. 

You can all wave the flags of Hamas, it won't change a thing. Because the terrorists in Gaza who have just sent our civilians more than 1800 rockets/missiles will very soon be reduced to dust.

And you tried to intervene but you failed, how frustrated you are to see us succeed.

You revolt and admit losing by displaying your visceral hatred.

During the Oslo terror war and the Second Intifada, I saw Jews blown to pieces. Sacrifices for peace? Little has changed. For too long we have buried innocent victims; your moral vision is still non-existent. 

On the Temple Mount, you come and play soccer when it suits you, sometimes you also pray, but more often than not you come to sack this holy place, fill it with firecrackers and rocks, and attack with stones my brothers who came to pray at the Western Wall and the police guarding them.

On each occasion, you find a pretext to destroy, burn, ransack, steal, assault and kill: You like to seek chaos.

Don't you see that it doesn't work? You've tried it for 150 years without success.

The Jewish people returned to their land after 2000 years of exile; they will stay there for eternity, it is Allah's plan. And yes Allah is Zionist. You have to get used to it.

The Jewish people fear no one on their land.

No foreign powers, media, groups, individuals will intimate us or shake us.

The time of exile is over.

We have our independence and we are no longer under the Ottoman Empire or British occupation or at the mercy of other nations. 

We have passed through periods of severe turbulence in the past, and all of our oppressors have been thrown into the trash can of history.

We will continue to live and build on this land that is ours, as promised to us 3700 years ago - the land where the Kingdom of Israel and Judea flourished, and where we always had a presence.

It is our road, that of the Torah and nothing else.
